BHT is seeking to recruit for a new post within the organisation, Head of HR and Training. The post holder will work closely with me and will be responsible for the strategic planning, development and implementation of our human resources and training activities, as well as providing a strategic lead for volunteering, work experience, peer support and similar activities.
This post is being recruited for 28 hours per week.
BHT employs almost 300 members of staff. It has a small HR Department made up of an HR Manager, HR Advisor, and HR Assistant. In 2013/14 it co-ordinated the recruitment of 75 members of staff. The Department advises and assists management and staff on the full range of generalist HR matters, including absence management (an average of 6.97 per FTE in 2013/14) and disciplinary matters.
The Training Department delivers a training programme for BHT staff and external agencies. In 2013/14 107 courses were delivered with 827 BHT staff attendances and 321 external attendances (generating £30,000 income).
The ideal applicant will be CIPD qualified, have a background in strategic planning and management, possess the ability to inspire, lead and manage change and have a working knowledge of managing health and safety in the workplace.
The salary to be paid for this post will be £39,195 per annum pro rata for 28 hours per week (£29,661). An employer’s pension contribution of between 3% and 6% is also paid. The level of this contribution is currently 3% and is reviewed annually.
